Tiles and columns

Atrium shows the same cards in one of two views, picked from the page’s right-click menu, or with the Show modules in tiles and Show modules in columns commands. A card added, removed or changed in one view is the same in the other.

  • Tiles (the default) fill the window, side by side and stacked. Drag the line between two tiles to resize them, and double-click it, or right-click it and choose Equal sizes, to even them out. Drag a card’s corner, which lights up as you point at it, to resize it both ways at once: in tiles, the lines meeting there; in columns, its height and its column’s width; expanded, its width and height. Point at it and a dotted line marks where a module would go: beside the tile along it whose middle is nearest the pointer, so near the middle of a whole stack it adds beside the stack, near the middle of one card beside just that card, and near where two cards side by side meet, beside the pair. Where two would share a middle, the half of the line nearer the cards picks the smaller. Click to add one there. The page’s own edges, just outside the tiles, work the same way, from the page’s whole side down to one card along it. While you drag a card, it leaves the page and the others close up, as they’ll be once it’s gone. Drop it on a tile to put it in the half nearest the pointer. Drop it on a line between tiles, the page’s edge, or a tile’s outer eighth to put it beside the tiles along that edge, picked as for adding: near where Clock and Daily meet, below the pair, say, or near the middle of the whole row, below the row. Join with the one on the left / right / above / below, in a card’s right-click menu or as a command, puts the card and that neighbour together in the neighbour’s place, the other way round: two cards side by side become a stack, and two stacked ones sit side by side.
  • Columns keep a main column with side columns around it. Click a dotted line between cards to add a module there, drag a card’s frame to move it, and drag a column’s edge to resize it. Fit to screen width keeps the columns inside the window, wrapping them onto rows when it’s too narrow.

Cards fit their size

Cards with a reading lay themselves out by their own size as you resize them. Tiny, they show just the reading: the Clock’s time, the weather now, the track playing, the timer or the next event. Small, the Clock is just the time and the Weather just now; medium adds the day’s details and the days ahead; large adds the hours.
